Tamsin Pearse
Tamsin lives in the county of Devon, a beautiful and inspiring place. She feels so grateful to live close to the sea and countryside that she finds it a natural drive to create her art.
Tamsin Pearse started on her artistic journey by painting colourful seascapes, then covering them in resin. She fell in love with the look of resin art and after much experimenting with this and other mediums, she started to create stunning abstract pieces.
Beautiful and captivating, the high gloss finish of the resin gives the paintings a mysterious depth. Due to the very fluid nature of the material, each piece is unique and cannot be replicated. They are truly one-off, fascinating works of art.
“I use many different mediums to get different effects in my paintings… I often use resin along with fluid acrylics, heavy body acrylics, inks, pearlescent and metallic powders and even spray paint. I use a blow torch to help create the beautiful detail and even catch the painting on fire…safely I might add….which creates more of the desired effects. There’s a lot involved in the two tiny words ‘mixed media’. It’s taken me years to develop my own style of using resin, to work out how to get the effects I want, with many attempts and experiments!”
