Shipping

On large original artworks in our possession, orders may take up to fourteen days to ship, but we will always endeavour to be as fast as we can. Some parts of the UK can take longer due to predetermined courier routes. If we are unable to ship within fourteen days we will email you with an estimated dispatch date and offer the option of order cancellation.

We use Aardvark Art Shipping couriers for large artworks, like paintings and framed prints. These are a specialist art courier service that are trained to handle and care for valuable works of art. Aardvark have a predefined circular route around the UK, and thus they may collect from Lux over a week from our enquiry. The latest delivery date can be up to 2 weeks after collection.

If you would like an express service please contact us first on [email protected] and we will do our very best to help. We can use an alternative non-art courier, but Aardvark are our preferred choice due to their care.

Some artworks are delivered direct from the artist. For example a number of Alexander Rhys works are shipped directly from the artist, but also require framing first. These can take up to a month for delivery as a result. Alexander will be in touch regarding delivery for these specific items.

‘Available on backorder’ products can vary in timescale. Backorder artworks by Danny Abrahams, Tina Earnshaw and Hamish Blakely will usually arrive within 2 weeks. Limited editions by Laetitia Guilbaud, Andrew Stewart, Gwyn Jones and Kathryn Callaghan usually take 2-3 weeks, as some of these are made to order. If you wish for a more exact timescale on a backorder item, please email us before ordering.

Delivery costs for orders over £100 are free within mainland UK. If you live outside the UK, please contact us to get a shipping quote.

Smaller UK orders can often be delivered within 48 hours (business days only). International orders will depend upon the final destination, and are usually handled by UPS.

Aardvark or Lux Gallery will contact you to arrange a convenient delivery time. Given the precious nature of your order, the courier will need a signature from somebody at the delivery address.

For UK shipping and international shipping via courier your artwork will be carefully packaged in the gallery by one of our experienced staff.

For international shipping, each item is individually packaged for available couriers. Most European and US destinations can be shipped door-to-door via UPS.

Depending on your location, we may require additional information from you to comply with customs, such as TIN or SSN.

For international deliveries the cost includes insurance but does not include additional charges for local taxes, duty, customs charges or quarantine inspection fees.

We endeavour to reuse and recycle packaging materials wherever possible.

Returns

We hope that you’ll love anything you buy from Lux Gallery, but we understand that you may have second thoughts when your new artwork arrives.

If you are not happy with your purchase, you may return it with the receipt to Lux Gallery for a full refund (excluding shipping costs) providing the following conditions are met:

  • You must contact us by email advising us of its return within 14 days of your order’s arrival with you.
  • Artwork must be returned in its original packing and undamaged (and unworn in the case of jewellery) to Lux Gallery, 13 Greenfield Crescent, Birmingham, B15 3AU
  • It must be received back in the gallery within 10 days of the artwork’s arrival with you, if you live within the UK
  • You must pay for shipping the work back to us and for insurance of the work during transit to us.

Provided the above conditions have been met, we will arrange for a full refund of the costs of the artwork to you. You will not be refunded the delivery or return costs and a refund will not be made until the work has been returned undamaged to us with your receipt of purchase. Payments will be made promptly on the return of any goods and in any event within a maximum of 30 days from the cancellation of the order.

The above conditions do not apply to earrings, special orders, or to work made to order/commissions, which are not returnable.

Your statutory rights will not be affected.
