After nearly 4 years in glorious Edgbaston Village, we have sadly closed our gallery doors on Greenfield Crescent. Those who visited Lux over the last few months may have realised that the building we occupied was a little ‘tired’. Our landlords have made plans for major renovations, including building an extension, moving a staircase, changing all the windows etc. The short of it is, we cannot stay there whilst this is happening.
But fear not!
Lux Gallery as a business is going nowhere! Whilst we continue to look at alternative venues across the city, we have launched our new model, that allows us to continue to represent quality artists in the city.
Welcome to The City Gallery project
As we have dozens of artists on our books who wish to continue to work with us, we are now working with ‘gallery partners’ spaces that will allow us to install, display and sell artworks from various locations.
How does this work?
Our gallery partners can include wine bars, restaurants, hotels, town houses, banks, receptions etc, that have significant footfall of art-loving clients. These spaces gets quality art installed on their walls, and our artists get free wall space to show their work to clients. We have worked with partners using this model successfully for a number of years, so this is simply an expansion of this concept.
Our current partners include Loki Wines, Chapter Restaurant, 1000 Trades On The Park, with many more to be confirmed soon (watch this space).

All our artworks are still available via our website, and we will continue to offer free shipping and 0% finance on original artworks. We will also be offering home visits to clients in the West Midlands, who can have a range of art taken to their home first before commiting to buy.
This new concept actually allows us to represent even more artists than before. This is an original business model in the city, which we hope can benefit the city, its spaces, and its artists in equal measure.
So if you have been considering buying an artwork from Lux, or have a gift voucher you are yet to redeem, do not worry. We are still here to offer you amazing service: home art consultations and installation options are available.
More artworks than ever before will soon be on our website, and the Lux Gallery / City Gallery name will soon be in many places across Birmingham.
It’s not the end. It’s the next beginning.
