Brummy Artist

Sandra Palmer – aka ‘The Brummy Artist’ is a Birmingham-based Black female surrealist artist. Sandra creates vibrant, bold, and oh-so-Birmingham themed collages that get people talking. The Brummy Artist is best known for her digital botanical creations, blending homegrown flowers with snapshots of Brum’s streets and architecture.
She has a passion for visual storytelling, rooted in personal experience, and an eye for the overlooked beauty in everyday life.
Sandra’s style has been shaped over months of trial and error, whilst investing time into researching the best papers, printers, and packaging. The results are truly captivating and unique.
Her distinctive style often features floral crowns, which Sandra sees as tiny reminders to slow down, notice, and appreciate the details we often miss. She fuses candid, textural photography with delicate, romantic botanical influences (shout outs to Mary Delany and Terry O’Neill).
The result are surreal collages where realism flirts with the whimsical, and city streets fuse harmoniously with flower beds.
For Sandra, this isn’t just a passion project – it’s a lifestyle. The Brummy Artist’s work is rooted in Sandra’s love of creating happy, positive, joyful art, and it’s her way of sprinkling a little calm, wonder, and inspiration into everyday life.
And, of course, showing the world that “Birmingham is BEAUTIFUL.
