Darius Martisius was born on September 24, 1976, in Taurage, Lithuania.
Throughout his childhood, Darius was surrounded by and exposed to a plethora of tools designed to work with metal and wood. His father, an engineer in a local metalwork factory, created a space at home whereby tools and materials would fill the closet from floor to ceiling. It was here that Darius would watch and learn the skills of his father.
With guidance he was encouraged to draw, producing a variety of sketches, whilst gaining the knowledge and experience of using his father's tools. This is where Darius’ passion for creation was cemented.
In 2003 he made the choice to relocate, emigrating to the United Kingdom, starting a joinery company which successfully worked throughout the country involved in numerous new builds and refurbishment hospital projects between 2004 and 2014.
It was in 2013 Darius decided to fulfil his lifelong yearning for creation. He enrolled on the BA (Hons) Fine Art Course at the University.
